Lead lists, Maps scrapers and LocalProspect Pro: which one, when
These three tools do different jobs. A list gives you records, a scraper gives you listing data, and LocalProspect Pro tells you what to say to each business. Here is where each one fits.

What a lead list gives you
A purchased or subscription list is a set of business records, usually name, address and phone number. Some also include email addresses or company details, and the fields and how current they are vary by provider. The strengths are volume and cost per record, and it exports cleanly into a dialer or CRM. What it usually doesn't tell you is how the business takes payments or what its website looks like.
What a Maps scraper gives you
A scraper collects the fields shown on a Google Maps listing: name, address, phone, website, category, hours, rating and review count. It's fast, cheap for bulk pulls, and the output is yours to use. LocalProspect Pro uses the same kind of data itself. Search combines Google Places with AI search, and the Deep Research step uses a Google Maps scraper to gather contact details and up to 50 reviews for one lead.
What LocalProspect Pro adds
It starts from live search, then diagnoses each lead one at a time.
| Capability | Typical lead list | Typical Maps scraper | LocalProspect Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, address, phone | Yes | Yes | Yes, from Google Places |
| Owner or manager name | Varies | Not a listing field | Researched with AI search; may be blank |
| Website grade | Not typical | Not typical | Yes |
| POS and payment signals | Not typical | Not typical | Yes, with confidence |
| Review pain points | Not typical | Raw reviews only | Analyzes up to 50 reviews |
| Phone line type | Varies | No | Yes, through a carrier lookup |
| Statement to savings and script | No | No | Yes |
| Bulk volume | Main strength | Main strength | Not the goal |
Columns describe typical products in each category, not any specific vendor. Features vary by provider, so check a provider's own documentation before comparing.
Where lists and scrapers win
If you need tens of thousands of records to load into a dialer, a list or a scraper is the right tool. LocalProspect Pro searches on demand, and credits meter the deeper work, with 15 free and no card needed. It can export your saved leads to CSV, but it isn't a bulk database.
Using them together
The tools aren't mutually exclusive. Bring a list you already have: each CSV row is verified against Google Places and saved as a lead, without silently spending credits on enrichment. Then run the checks on the businesses worth a call, starting with POS detection and, once you have a statement, statement analysis.
Work fewer leads, better.
Search for free, then run the checks that tell you what to say.
